Baiting an opponent into prematurely using any status removers they brought, such as using a low-cost effect card such as Ember or Ignite before using Hellfire, is a viable option to secure Hellfire's burn damage not being removed. Besides its counter to summons, if the burn isn't removed, Hellfire can take out almost half of a player's maximum HP, being punishing to anyone who does not have status removers entering into a fight. Hellfire has a huge part in PvP since it can be used to take out multiple summons and their caster, being a counter to summon-oriented decks. It should not be forgotten that Hellfire is a card that deals "true damage", being damage that can bypass buffs which can be very effective against enemies who have defense modifiers ( Guard, Skeleton King) or who use Defense Buffs/ Ramparts a lot ( Sneal, Nicole Rin). In most cases, it should only be used on full bits as just missing 1 bit takes 35 damage out of Hellfire. Hellfire is favored by many due to its potential to deal huge amounts of damage (up to 136) to large swarms of enemies at an impressive range. When Hellfire is used at maximum bits, it will deal a base damage of 56 and deal an additional 16 damage for 5 turns, dealing a total of 136 damage, provided that the Burn effect doesn't get removed.Īs this card is an effect card, its damage values are not affected by attack buffs or auras such as Agony Seal.
